Pardon my French. But I know what you’re all thinking. New year, new me… blah blah blah WHATEVER! Nobody ever sticks to their resolutions. It’s all about getting in shape, losing weight, drinking less sodas, “unplugging” more often, eating better, yada yada yada, until February rolls around. Nobody cares by then. You’ll already be used to writing “2016” as the date and you’ll forget you ever made yourself a promise.
I know exactly how you feel because I’ve always said the same thing! Seeing a new number on a calendar can’t be enough motivation to get you through an entire 365 days. 12 months is a LONG time when you’ve set yourself some lofty goals. 80% of people never accomplish their new year’s resolutions. WOW! That’s a lot. But what about that 20% that do? What are they doing so that they ARE hitting those goals? And how do we become part of that 20% and grow it to 30%? Or 40%?
Let me tell you something: the reason why people fail is because they don’t have a PLAN. And not just knowing when, where and how to meet their goals, but there’s a WHO involved too. WHO is going to kick your butt when you don’t follow the plan? Certainly not YOU! You put yourself in this position in the first place! You’re the one who convinced yourself it was OK to skip a workout and have M&M’s for breakfast (yes, I’m talking to myself right now). You need an accountability partner. Someone who’s on the same path, with the same goals and someone who will slap that cinnamon roll out of your hand (talking to myself again… or is that you too?!?). Can you imagine how effective that would be?
Now imagine this: a whole TEAM of people slapping things out of each other’s hands left and right! There’s so much slapping, M&M’s flying, oh snap that’s a Reese’s! wait, is that WINE? Oh no she didn’t! Ok ok… calm down. But seriously, how much more motivated would you be to get up and move, spend a few more minutes prepping your lunch and snacks instead of going through a drive through or heating up that frozen meal, if you knew there were other people counting on you? Hoping you’ll get it right so they’ll get it right too? Hoping they see you struggled this morning to get up and do it, but you DID it with kids hanging from one arm, the dog barking, laundry is piling up… but you DID it. Which means they have to do it too…
Well if you’re ready for a change and will COMMIT to not only helping yourself, but helping others in the process too, I’ve got a new challenge group starting in January! This is a team of people who want to be in that 20% for 2016. They want to kick 2016’s ASS by feeling their best. By chasing their kids (fur babies included) around the yard without getting winded (it’s like I’m just talking to my mirror this morning). I have a few spots left in this group and if you’re one of these people, then I want you to be in it!
We’ll be sharing recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, workout woes and other tips and tricks to get us to where we want to be next year! Maybe you want to lose 5 pounds? Maybe it’s more like 50? Or maybe you just want to feel good in your own skin again? (Side note: OFF-scale goals are my favorite!) Some of us just want to be able to sit down in a pair of jeans without having to first wiggle and waggle the waist band up so our flat tire isn’t hanging out when do finally get comfortable.
