Ahhhhh I remember the first Starbucks Frappuccino I fell in love with… the Java Chip. Bits of chocolate chips, a strong coffee flavor, and of course whipped cream and chocolate syrup to top it off. Who WOULDN’T fall in love with that?
Well, gone are my Java Chip days… for one, the closest Starbucks to me is 13 miles away (NO JOKE). For two, my financial budget doesn’t accommodate $6 coffees on the regular. And for three (and most important to me), my caloric budget doesn’t accommodate the 470 calories that a grande java chip frappuccino boasts. WHOA! Now I realize you can lighten it up by swapping to skim milk and removing the whipped cream… but that still pulls a whopping 320 calories! So it’s best for me to just STAY AWAY.
Enter Cafe Latte Shakeology. I would say it’s life changing, but I don’t want to be dramatic. But really? Some may say so… I’ve been mixing it with just water and ice to get the full flavor, but I decided this morning to be a little more creative. Propane Man likes to add a few chocolate chips to his shakes for “texture” (SUUUUUUURE….). I usually do ours separate, and thanks to the handy dandy Ninja and it’s individual cups, it’s super easy. However, I figured this was a great opportunity to try some new Cafe Latte recipes.
Let me tell you… this is SO GOOD. You may never go back to your favorite chocolate or vanilla morning shakes again! I encourage you to give it a try and please tell me what you think! I’d love to hear if you followed the recipe, or made it your own.
1-2 cups ice
8 ounces unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 scoop Cafe Latte Shakeology
1 tsp mini chocolate chips
Combine all in your Ninja cup, hit the Ultra Blend button and your delicious breakfast is ready to go!
